Town of Mosman Park Works Depot Business Plan

The Towns of Cottesloe and Mosman Park each propose to commence a major land transaction in relation to Lot 501, McCabe Street, Mosman Park, for the purposes of accommodating a works depot for the Town of Cottesloe into the current Town of Mosman Park works depot land. As required under the Local Government Act (1995), a business plan has been created by each Local Government, and is available for viewing or copy through the respective Local Governments’ administration buildings, websites, or at The Grove Library. Submissions about the proposed undertaking or transaction may be made to the respective local government before Monday 10 December 2018 as outlined within the business plans.

Garungup Park Environmental Management Plan

The Town has recently completed a review of the Environmental Management Plan for Garungup Park. The Plan revises and updates the prior plan that was completed in 2010. The reviewed Plan assesses the current and emerging threats, trends, and required actions to preserve and protect the local biodiversity and amenity of the Park for the whole community, now and in to the future.

The Plan identifies that plant diversity is low and requires attention as well as the importance of weed management to combat the 25 weed species currently found on site. The reviewed Plan addresses the threat of fire to the site as well as fire reduction activities required to protect the site as well as the adjacent residents.

A key feature of the Plan is a five year works program, with indicative costs, to help steer the management of Garungup Park to a place of balance between community desire and available resourcing from the Town.

The Town is seeking community comment on the revised Plan.  The Town will be accepting comments until the close of business on the 22nd October 2018. Comments may be submitted by email to admin@mosmanpark.wa.gov.au or hand delivered to the Administration Building. These comments will be collated and reported to Council, with any amendments to the Plan, for formal adoption, anticipated to occur in November 2018.

MINIM COVE BBQs

The Town has identified two barbeques in Minim Cove near Fairbairn St (colloquially known as the Bush Block) as being underutilised.

The Town would like to hear your feedback! If you use these barbeques and wish for them to remain or be relocated elsewhere, should there be a more suitable location within the Town we'd like to hear from you.

The Town will be accepting comments until close of business on 25 September 2018. Comments may be submitted by email to admin@mosmanpark.wa.gov.au or hand delivered to the Administration Building at Memorial Park, on Memorial Drive (between Bay View Terrace and Palmerston Street, Mosman Park) during business hours, 8.30am to 4.30pm Monday to Friday.

In making a decision the Town will consider all feedback given and the needs of the wider community.
