Chidley Point Plan Open for Comment

Chidley Point Environmental Management Plan 2018-2028

The Town of Mosman Park puts Environmental Management Plans in place for all of its major natural resource assets.  In keeping with this best practice model, the original Chidley Point Management Plan was prepared for the Town in 2011. Since that time, several changes at the site have occurred; ecologically, socially, legislative, and resourcing wise. As such, the Town engaged a consultant to prepare a revised Environmental Management Plan for this area, which is now ready for comment.

It is important for areas like Chidley Point to be managed under a strategic document, such as an Environmental Management Plan, to ensure that the priorities, actions and resources align with industry best practice and resident expectations for the site. It also assists in cross-agency management; with the Town of Mosman Park and the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions both jointly managing this site. The Town also consults with the Department of Fire and Emergency Services to ensure proper fire reduction activities and compliance is achieved for the site.

If you wish to view the Chidley Point Environmental Management Plan 2018-2028 and make comment, the Plan is now available electronically on the Town’s website or may be viewed at the Town’s Administration Building (Memorial Drive).

The Town will be accepting comments until close of business on 31 August 2018. Comments may be submitted by email to admin@mosmanpark.wa.gov.au or hand delivered to the Administration Building at Memorial Park, on Memorial Drive (between Bay View Terrace and Palmerston Street, Mosman Park) during business hours, 8.30am to 4.30pm Monday to Friday. These comments will be collated and will be reported back to Council in September, with any amendments to the Plan, for formal adoption.
