Disability Awareness Week this year runs from 3-9 December, with International Day of People with Disability celebrated on 3 December. The week promotes the vision that we all live in welcoming communities that facilitate citizenship, friendship, mutual support and a fair go for everyone.  To celebrate this year, an Auslan interpreter will be joining Stewart for his Storytime session at The Grove Library from 10:30-11am on Tuesday 5 December. Come along for stories, singing, rhymes, fun and crafts – all of which will be signed into Auslan for those with hearing impairments. Sessions are designed for children aged between two and six years, with their ‘grown ups’. Story time encourages the love and excitement of reading, while enjoying the company of others.  This event is supported with a grant from the Western Australian Department of Communities, Disability Services, and helps the Town to achieve outcomes in our Disability Access and Inclusion Plan.
