The Town of Mosman Park engages with our community on a broad range of issues and through a diverse range of activities and events, but always in keeping with principles of diversity and inclusion, ensuring that our two-way communication with our community is participatory and equitable. Throughout our community engagement practice, we are very conscious of the need to cater for residents of all abilities, and we operate within the guidelines of our Disability Access and Inclusion Plan (DAIP). This consultation model is in keeping with our best practice model, as guided by the IAP2 framework.
In recent years the Town has conducted major community consultation initiatives on these (and many other) issues:
• Local government reform (including a current process on the boundary with North Fremantle);
• Review of the Strategic Community Plan; and
• Planning policies.
Consultations have been conducted on many specific issues, including the recently-finalised Local Planning Scheme No.3 (now with the Minister for assent) the recently-adopted Planning Policy on External Fixtures and Solar Panels, and:
• Municipal Heritage Inventory;
• Improvements to Mosman Park Skatepark; and
• Mosman Bay Foreshore to name a few.
Beyond these issue-specific measures, the Town conducts a whole-of-Town Community Survey every two years. To read the outcomes of the Town’s most recent Community Survey, conducted in 2016, click here.
We always welcome your input into important issues in Mosman Park and encourage all residents and property owners and local businesses to stay informed about our decisions, activities and events.
