Art Collection
Welcome from the Mayor
Welcome to the Town of Mosman Park's Art Collection. This collection of over 80 diverse artworks contains contemporary and historical works in a range of media, and forms a rich cultural resource of the Town.
The collection provides a compelling and occasionally unexpected variety of artistic statements about life in Mosman Park that span over nine decades, with representations from artists such as renowned West Australian landscape artist and State Living Treasure Robert Juniper, as well as D’hange Yammanee, David Jay Reed and one-time local residents Mary-Jane Malet and Marshall Clifton.
The focus of the Art Collection is to document, preserve, acquire and display artworks that reflect and respond to Mosman Park's history, identity and character. Central to this process is the Town's annual Art Awards. Established in 1985, the Mosman Park Art Awards aim to foster and promote visual arts in the community through a vibrant exhibition and awards program. Each year, the winning works are acquired by the Town, ensuring that the collection retains its relevance to Mosman Park and its community.
This on-line database of the Mosman Park Art Collection was developed and launched in 2008 to allow even greater community access to the collection's artworks. So please enjoy taking a wander through Mosman Park’s tranquil parklands, viewing its spectacular and unique scenery and bumping into some of the locals – all without leaving your chair.
If you would like to view the artworks contained in this collection in person, please contact Council's Community Development team on 9383 6600.
